Many schools that have a flexible schedule have multiple flex periods during the day. Enriching Students supports up to 20 flex periods. This article will explain how you can rename, activate or deactivate, and set pre-booking settings for your school's flex periods.
Logged into Enriching Students as a site Admin, go to Settings in the navigation, and in the Manage Staff and Students box select 'Manage School Periods.'
Here you will see your school's current list of flex periods. To change the name of a period, simply click inside the label with the current name, make the desired changes, and click 'Save.'
You'll also notice a series of check boxes labelled 'Prebook Mon', 'Prebook Tues' and so on for each day of the week. These are the days you have set up for students to be prebooked into their Homeroom/Advisory for the corresponding period. These values were likely set up in the import process for your school, but may be edited here as well. To prebook a specific period on a specific day just check the corresponding box. Unchecking the box will remove prebooking settings for that day.
You will also see the School Information System (SIS) ID with each flex period, which enables Enriching Students to integrate and share data with your school's SIS.
Lastly, the 'Is Active' check box can be checked and unchecked to activate or deactivate a flex period. Activating a flex period makes it available for scheduling, deactivating a flex period will remove any future appointments made during that period and will make it unavailable for users to schedule, removing it from the period drop-down selection on the Scheduling Page.
You can make any edits to your school flex periods from here; editing their name, changing the prebooking day, activating or deactivating them. After each edit, be sure to click the 'Save'. Changes are updated automatically.
The Manage Periods page is very useful for school managing multiple flex periods, and allows you to have more control over how they are used.
