The Admin Block Dates feature allows you to block off dates on the school calendar for the entire school staff. This is useful for Holidays, in-service days, or other times school will be out. Blocking dates prevents any teachers from scheduling, or being scheduled to during this time period. You can block entire days or weeks, or only specific flex periods within a day.
Logged in as an admin, select 'Settings' in the navigation. In the 'App Settings' box on this page, select 'School Calendar.'
To create a new blocked day or period, you'll need to use the 'Block off Days' box. Enter the 'Reason' or name that will appear on the calendar for why it's blocked. Next select the date range, whether it's one day or one week, and what days you want to block within that date range. Select those days by checking a box for the day or days of the week next to 'Days to Bock,' or by selecting 'all' to select Monday-Friday. Next, you can choose if you want to block a whole day or just a period. To block the day, in the 'Select Period(s)' drop-down, be sure to check all of your flex periods. If you want to block only one period, select that period.
Click 'Save' and these blocked dates will be added to the calendar, and the 'Days Off' box, with the reason and date, or dates it occurs on.
In the 'Days Off' box, you can delete your entire blocked series of dates, or, a specific day or flex period. To remove all of them, select 'Remove,' and confirm the action. To view the individual dates and or/flex periods you've blocked, select 'Show Details' next to the 'Holiday or Other Reason.' This will give you a list of all the days and/or flex periods. To clear an individual blocked date, select 'Clear', and confirm the action.
