The Admin Take Attendance feature can come in handy when a teacher is absent, and attendance for the flex period needs to be taken.
Logged in as an admin, select 'Settings' in the navigation. In the 'General Settings' box, select 'Take Attendance.' Select the date, and staff member you need to take attendance for. Click 'View Students' and scheduled attendees for that teacher will display in the 'Take Attendance' box. If your school uses multiple periods, the students will broken down by flex period.
To take attendance for an entire Flex period, in the drop-down menu next to the flex period's name, select the attendance type to set all students to, then click the 'Save Attendance for: (your Flex Period Name)'. This will set all student to the same attendance type. However, you are still able to edit the attendance type for individual students if you wish.
To set attendance types for individual students, select an attendance type in the drop-down by their name, check the 'Tardy' checkbox if necessary, and add a comment if you wish.
To save changes for individual students, click 'Save' at the bottom of the list of students in that flex period.
Once you click save, attendance will have been taken for the selected staff member on that day. You can always go back and edit the attendance if necessary as well. Simply re-enter the staff member, the correct date, make your changes, and be sure to save them.
