Some schools may want to schedule a student to the same teacher on a weekly basis, over a long period of time. How can you do this with Enriching Students?
First, find the student (or even group of students) you want to schedule, on the day you want to schedule them. You will be able to change this date later on if you want. Click the 'Schedule' button. This will re-direct you to the Schedule Details page.
The top of the page will read 'Schedule: (Student's Name). You will see a box with the student's current grades. Here, you can select the department, and course you want to schedule the student to. This could be one of your courses, or another teacher's.
You can type a comment in the Comment box to let the student, and teacher, know why you are scheduling them.
Next, select the appropriate appointment type. By checking the 'Appt Locked' box, you will prevent other teachers from overwriting the appointments you are creating. The 'Student Can Overwrite' box, if checked, will enable the student to be able to overwrite the appointment. This box will only show if your school has enabled students to schedule themselves, and if you leave the 'Appt Locked' box unchecked. The last box, 'Overwrite Existing Appts,' will overwrite any appointments the student already has for the days you're scheduling them.
Next, you'll want to set up the days you want this appointment to repeat. To make recurring appointments on multiple days, first select a date range. By default, the date will be set to whatever date you had selected on the Scheduling page. But you can set the date range to whatever start and end date you want. Next, you can choose what days of the week you want the appointment to occur on in the date range by checking the box next to the day or days of the week you want. For example, you could set the date range to a month, and have this appointment occur every Tuesday of that month.
Click save, and your appointments will have been created! You will be directed back to the Scheduling page. Clicking 'Cancel' will also bring you back to this page. If you didn't check the 'Overwrite Appointments' box, and the student was already scheduled to an appointment on a date you tried to schedule them, you will get a notification message on the Scheduling page that tells you on what date you couldn't schedule this student.
You can schedule multiple students for repeating appointments as well. To learn how to schedule a group of students, read the 'Schedule Group to Another Teacher' article. And simply follow the example here for scheduling on multiple days.
