What is a locked appointment?
Locking an appointment means limiting access to who can change the appointment. Whereas an unlocked appointment can be deleted by any Staff Member, a Locked appointment can only be deleted by the following three people:
- The staff member who created the appointment.
- The staff member for whom the appointment was created.
- An admin.
How Do I Lock an Appointment?
You can lock an appointment when scheduling a student. First, go to the Scheduling page. Find the student and go to the day you want to schedule them. On that day, click 'Schedule.' This will redirect you to the schedule details page. Here you can set up the student's appointment.
To lock the appointment, check the 'Appt Locked' checkbox under the Appointment Type drop-down menu. This will prevent other teachers from overwriting this appointment.
How Do I Unlock and/or Delete a Locked Appointment?
You are only able to delete a locked appointment if it was one that you created. The only way to remove a locked appointment another teacher has made, unless they made it for you, is to ask them to unlock or delete it.
So, how do you unlock an appointment? Go to the Scheduling page and view the appointment you created, in the weekly schedule. It should say at the bottom 'Appointment Locked.' To unlock the appointment, click the 'Schedule' button. This will take you back the schedule details page.
To unlock this appointment, create the appointment again, uncheck the 'Appt Locked?' checkbox, and check the 'I Want to Overwrite Existing Appointments' checkbox. This will remove the locked appointment, but the student will still be scheduled.
To delete a locked appointment, simply click the trashcan icon, and confirm to delete the appointment. The appointment will be deleted.
