There are several bug fixes in this release
The Attendance Not Taken report was not exporting correctly. This has been fixed.
The student name was not appearing on the export of the Teacher Tags report.
When editing a student whose graduation year was outside what was an acceptable range for the school, the graduation year list would default to the first value. We've added a "(select)" option to make it clear the student doesn't have a valid value
We've made an adjustment to ensure Blocked Dates can't be duplicated.
Fixed an issue regarding deleting Adjusted Courses that are part of a series.
Fixed an issue around marking students as being able to self-schedule. Existing homeroom appointments weren't always getting marked as being editable by the students when a school allowed students to edit their homeroom appointments.
Help With File Uploads
One issue we see regarding uploading data via CSV files are files that have many rows with nothing but commas. Because so many people review a CSV file through a tool like Excel, it's not always possible to spot the issue.
Going forward, all data files that are used to update a schools account (roster, student, grades) are limited to 1 MB in size. We've found the only reason a file would be larger is due to the above mentioned situation. This will catch that situation and provide some feedback to the user.
We've improved the process for admins to mass schedule large groups of students.
In the past, you would either go to Settings, Schedule Group for scheduling students into non-homeroom courses or Settings, Create Homeroom Appts for scheduling students into their respective homerooms. We've combined the pages and added some new features as well.
As an admin, go to Settings, locate the App Settings section and look for Mass Scheduling.
The page allows you to select the Course that you're scheduling the students into. The first option is to schedule the students into their advisory. When this option is selected, it will place the students into their respective advisories. Any other course will place all of the students into the selected subject matter course.
If your school uses multiple periods, you can select one or more days and one or more periods across those days. For example, you could select Periods 1 & 2 on Monday and Periods 3 & 4 on Wednesday.
You have the option of locking appointments, allowing students to override the appointments, adding comments and scheduling across multiple days.
Another new feature is the Schedule by File option. This allows you to upload a file that has a single column of Student Ids. (The header of the file must be studentid.) The application will then schedule the students in the file to whatever course you select. Any students that are in the file and not in Enriching Students will simply be ignored.
Clever Single Sign On
If your school uses Clever and has granted permissions for Enriching Students to work with your Clever installation, your users can log on to Enriching Students from within your Clever portal.
Import Data From Clever Manually
If your school uses Clever and has granted permissions for Enriching Students to work with your Clever installation, you can import data via the Settings, Import Data page.
The process is broken out into three distinct steps, Staff, Students and Rosters, that you run one at a time.
The corresponding data in Enriching Students is backed up before the actual import begins. If you run into any issues, please notify us immediately and we can roll back the changes.
We're continuing to improve this feature. We've brought back the ability to view a single staffer at a time, simply select the staffer from the drop down list. From there, you can expand a single month at a time.
We've taken the same approach for the Departments that have been blocked. You select the department and then expand the month to view the details.
However, we've added a feature that will allow you to add/remove one staffer at a time. When you expand a specific day/period, you will see all of the users in the department. From there you can add/remove individual staffers to/from the blocked date.
Unscheduled Student Email
We've made an adjustment to this feature, which is found under Settings, Manage Students, Advanced. Prior to this release, the email sent to students would include all periods. This led to confusion in some schools, as students aren't required to be scheduled in all periods.
The application now allows you to select the periods you want to include in the email.
One Day Staff Schedule Report
This is similar in nature to the five day report, with the obvious exception that it's limited to a single day.
Additionally, the report allows you to select a single staffer or the entire school. If you choose the entire school, there are page breaks inserted after each staffer/period combination, making it easy to print out everyone when needed.
Note that any staffers who have no students scheduled to them will not appear on this report.
