How can you take attendance for your flex periods? You can take attendance right from the dashboard page. As you’ll notice, on your weekly schedule there is a “take
attendance” button under each day. When you click this button, a list of your students
scheduled will become available. If your school has multiple flex periods, you will see the list of students separated by the blocks they were scheduled in.
Group Attendance
There are a few options for taking attendance. The first is to set the attendance for all students in the flex block. You can choose an attendance type for the students as either present/participating, present/not participating, or absent. To save attendance for all students in the block, choose 'Set/Save for: (your Flex Block Name)".
Attendance for Individual Student
However, you likely will want to set attendance for individual students. To do so, set the attendance type in the drop-down next to the students' name. In addition, you can mark them Tardy, or add a comment if you wish. To add a comment, select the speech bubble icon (circled in green in the image below), and type in the available space. You are also able to delete their appointment by selecting the trashcan icon. To save the attendance for an individual student, click the 'Save Attendance,' button below the list of students.
To exit, select 'Close' to be redirected to the Dashboard.
Create Roster and Send Notification
You can create a new roster, or student group, from the students that are scheduled to you, right from the Take Attendance page. Just select the 'Create Roster' button, give the new roster a name, and click Save. Learn more about this feature.
You are also able to send notifications to the students you currently see on your Take Attendance page. Sending a notification will email all students a message. Select the 'Notifications' button. This will give you the option to add a subject and body for your message.
Once you have completed your message, click Send to email students. You can also send messages to students from the Take Attendance page for future dates. From the Dashboard, select the 'Take Attendance' button for a future date when you have students scheduled to you, and send them a message about your upcoming appointment. Learn more about this feature.
