Rosters and 'Tagging' Students
Enriching Students already allows teachers to create their own 'roster' of students. Once logged on, a teacher can click the Students link and Show My Students. Clicking a letter from the alphabet will list all of the students, who have not been added to the teacher's roster for the selected course.
However, it's been an all or nothing approach. If a teacher added their Algebra1 and Algebra2 students to their roster, there hasn't been any way to filter the scheduling based on that distinction. Until now!
Tag, You're It!
As you can see in the screenshot below, the user has chosen the Show My Students option and has selected the letter 'B'. Note the new feature to add a tag; here we see that the Guidance Counselor is creating a roster of students and wants to tag some students as being Senior. They could have just as easily typed Algebra1, Chemistry etc.
Now, as the user clicks the check boxes, the students are tagged with the phrase Senior.
There are two things to note here:
- First, each student selected has been tagged with the phrase Senior.
- Secondly, you have the ability to add additional tags to the student!
The extra tag feature also means that you can go back to your existing roster and add whatever tags you'd like to the students in your roster.
